Our vision is to have a healthy, happy and connected South Beach community.
Our mission is to promote our neighbours’ interests; to establish, grow and improve our community’s well-being and foster recreational, cultural and arts activities.
We have previously worked with the City of Cockburn to improve lighting and pedestrian access on Rollinson Rd, to install our awesome bike track in Barrow Park, and we have had successful community planting days with both the CoC and City of Fremantle.
Currently we are working hard with the Port Coogee Community Association to develop a proposal to change the suburb name of ‘North Coogee’ to ‘South Beach’ and ‘Port Coogee’ respectively. We have received overwhelming support for this project but we are always looking for more feedback – please email us!
We also continue to campaign for improvements to road infrastructure, especially the intersection of Rollinson and Cockburn Roads.
Any other ideas? Please let us know!
We had an amazing afternoon for Music in the Park this year. If you feel like you missed out, never fear! Coming up on Saturday the 21st March 2020 (at sunset), grab those bean bags because we look forward to seeing you at Barrow Park amphitheatre to watch Christopher Robin – one of my favorite movies to remind us about what is important in life (and who doesn’t love Winnie the Pooh?).
Many thanks to the City of Cockburn for sponsoring these events, and the South Beach Community Group’s major sponsor Carlie Baker from Caporn Young.
Since early 2017 we are an incorporated community group and with feedback from our neighbours have developed a framework of what we want to achieve. If you’re interested in finding out more of what we do, please have a read of our strategic plan.
We are always keen to hear from our neighbours about how they would like to become involved and help shape and improve our community. Please feel free to contact us with your suggestions.
